Emily Bertucci
Born in 1998 in Boca Raton, Florida, Emily Bertucci is a fine artist and muralist renowned for her work with oil paint on a medium to large scale. Her artistic journey commenced as soon as she could grasp a paintbrush. From 2010 to 2015, she explored the world of abstract painting, driven by the sheer pleasure of manipulating paint. For Emily, the act of painting was a captivating dance of colors and textures that served as the foundation of her artistic exploration.
In 2016, Emily embarked on a new chapter by relocating to Southern California and enrolling at the Laguna College of Art and Design (LCAD). Here, she was introduced to traditional oil painting and charcoal drawing, expanding her repertoire. In 2018, she had the privilege of studying in the birthplace of representational art, Florence, Italy, at the Florence Academy of Art. The year 2020 marked a significant milestone as she proudly emerged from LCAD with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Fine Art, signifying a profound turning point in her journey as an artist, equipped with the tools to express herself with eloquence through representational drawing and painting.
Emily Bertucci's artistic expression revolves around figurative painting, reflecting her admiration for the impressionists who captured the fleeting moments of life on canvas. Her work draws inspiration from the landscapes, people, and culture of both the East and West coasts of the United States. She specializes in painting local coastal scenes, basking in the radiance of sunshine, beach, and ocean, with a goal to immortalize moments of connection and joy beyond the confines of canvas. She has taken her art outdoors, embracing plein air painting to capture the essence of various Southern Californian landscapes and infuse each stroke with the vibrant energy of the moment.
Emily's art serves as a visual diary of her emotions and experiences, woven into textured tapestries of color harmony. Her passion lies in creating images that reflect the symphony of existence, a composition of emotions, experiences, and connections that shape her world. She finds intimate connections in her life with family and friends, which she eloquently captures through portraiture, attempting to immortalize their stories on canvas.
As an artist, Emily Bertucci embarks on a dual journey of introspection and technical evolution. She delves into the emotional landscape, aiming to convey her feelings through imagery, bridging the gap between the tangible and the intangible, the spoken and unspoken. Her work is a testament to her profound dedication to the art of painting and her commitment to capturing the essence of life's fleeting beauty on canvas.
